Tell jokes - Read a poem - Perform a skit  Dance - Sing a song - Play an instrument - Karate - Baton twirling

**Individual and group performances, as well as acts 

set to 80s music, are required**

AUDITION GUIDELINES

1) Each auditioning student must turn in a permission slip.  Permission slips will go home February 5th and will be due February 12.

2)  Acts must not be longer than 3 minutes

3)  Students can only perform in one act

4)  Lip-syncing will not be allowed

5) Singing acts must perform to karaoke versions of songs.  

(Check i-tunes or look for CDs on amazon.com) 

6)  A copy of any music and song lyrics must be submitted with the audition consent form (songs must be age-appropriate, no profanity or suggestive lyrics; www.azlyrics.com has a vast collection of lyrics)

7)  Acts must be performed in full at audition

8)  All costumes must comply with the dress code established for free dress days (guidelines available upon request).

9) A performer auditioning  in a group may not switch to perform with another group once he or she has auditioned.  The group that each performer auditions with is the same group that he or she must perform with in the variety show.

10)  Each student auditioning must have an adult chaperone responsible for him or her at the audition.

Due to time constraints, only 20 acts can be performed at the actual variety show.  Acts will be considered based on preparedness, stage presence, entertaniment value, and variety in the types of acts showcased.
