A New Head Start!
Given new meaning to the phrase "Head Start", GS has compiled its grade-specific supply lists, below. 

Kindergarten - AM/PM Classes
-2 containers of baby wipes
-2 boxes of 4 oz. Dixie cups
-1 box Ziploc brand sandwich bags (for girls)
-1 box Ziploc brand snack bags (for boys)

-1  pack of 8oz. or 12oz. plastic cups (to be used for paint)

AM Kindergarten
-1  bottle of juice (gallon or liter size) of any kind -- apple, cranberry, grape, etc.

1st Grade
-1 medium-sized soft backpack, no rolling backpacks allowed!
-1 pencil box, Spacemaker brand preferred (8.5 X 5 sized)
-1 pkg. Crayola brand Twistable color pencils
-1 10-pk. Crayola brand markers
-1 box of baby wipes (boys only)
-1 box of tissue (girls only)
-2 reams 8.5 X 11  white copy paper   
-2 lg. rectangular pink or white erasers (no scented ones!)
-2 4 oz. bottles Elmers brand black school or all purpose glue

-1  4pack of glue sticks
-2 yellow highlighters

 

2nd Grade
-1 medium-sized soft backpack. No rolling ones allowed!

-2 boxes 24-ct. Crayola brand crayons
-2 packs Crayola brand Twistable color pencils

-1 10-ct. Crayola brand thin tip/fine line markers
-2 red ballpoint pens
-2 yellow highlighters
-3 lg. rectangular pink erasers, Sanford or Papermate brand
-12 #2 type pencils
-12 pencil top erasers
-1 pair of Fiskars brand child's pointed scissors
-2 4packs of glue sticks

-1 4oz bottle of white glue

-1 12 ruler (inches and centimeters)                              

-2 reams 8.5 X 11  white copy paper    

-1 box of tissues
-2 heavy-duty polypropylene-plastic based pocket folders
-1 box of baby wipes
-Pencil box to be provided, please dont send one with your child!

 

3rd Grade
-1 medium-sized backpack (no rolling ones allowed!)
-2 reams 8.5 X 11  white copy paper 

-2 packs 1/4in graph paper

-2 Comp books of 1/2in graph paper 

-1 box of No. 2 type pencils, non-mechanical

-2 0.7 Mechanical pencils for math

-1 12inch ruler (inches and centimeters)                              
-1 boxes 24-ct. Crayola brand crayons
-2 packs Crayola brand Twistable color pencils

-2 packs of 100 sheets of loose-leaf wide-ruled paper                     

-1 10-ct. Crayola brand thin tip/fine line markers

-2 Highlighers (Different Colors)
-2 4packs of glue sticks
-Child's scissors, labeled with a permanent marker
-Medium-sized pencil box
-Baby wipes
-Facial tissues
-1 pack Red ballpoint pens
-10 pink pencil top erasers
 

4th Grade
-1 box 24-ct. plain pencils
-1 large pink eraser
-1 manual pencil sharpener (no battery-operated erasers!)
-1 box of 16 ct. crayons
-1 set of colored pencils
-1 4pack of  glue sticks,                            

-1 highlighter
-1 pair of childs scissors                     

-2 packs of 100 sheets of loose-leaf wide-ruled paper                               

-2 reams 8.5 X 11  white copy paper    

-1 spiral-bound wide-ruled notebook
-1 medium-sized pencil box
-1 small-sized Thesaurus for classroom use
-Also, you must memorize your math facts (+, , X and division) Flashcards avail. at Kmart or Target are an ideal way to practice over the summer.

 

5th Grade
-Plain or 0.7 mechanical pencils. If mechanical, please make sure to have extra lead on hand.
-Manual pencil sharpener                    

-1 box of crayons (no more than 48 ct. please!)
-Scissors
-1 set of markers
-1 set of colored pencils
-Ruler, 12 inch side with a metric side as well
-Adult-level dictionary, with pronunciations and parts of speech
-Thesaurus, alphabetical, dictionary-style is the easiest to use
-5 book covers, large or stretchy enough to fit the books
-1 medium sized pencil box

-2 pink rectangular erasers
-2 reams 8.5 X 11  white copy paper   
-2 packs of 100 sheets of loose-leaf wide-ruled paper

6th Grade
-2 reams 8.5 X 11  white copy paper    

-2 packs of 100 sheets of loose-leaf wide-ruled paper

-2 packs 1/4in graph paper
-Scissors

-Protractor
-Small dictionary, adult-level

-1 box Yellow No. 2 type pencils

-Ruler (metrics and customary)

-3-ring binders with dividers

Grades 7 and 8
-1 two-inch binder
-2 packs of 100 sheets of loose-leaf wide-ruled paper

-2 packs 1/4in graph paper                 

-2 reams 8.5 X 11  white copy paper
-1 pkg. dividers
-Black or blue ink ballpoint pens
-1 box No. 2 style pencils, reg. or 0.7 mechanical pencils
-Pencil case

Please Note:

School AGENDA PLANNERS can be purchased in the office for grades 3-8

* However, rolling packs are encouraged, especially for our 6th-8th grade students, who often must carry heavier loads of textbooks.
* Wherever possible, please pre-label your child's supplies (scissors, dictionaries, etc.) with a permanent marker.
* Please no novelty (colored, scented, feathered) pencils, erasers or supplies!

Office Donations Gladly Accepted!

Box Tops For Education

Congratulations to the winning classes!

 

1st Place: Mrs. Monroe's 2nd Grade class with 647 boxtops.

2nd Place: Mrs. Taelifiel's 2nd Grade class with 401 boxtops.

3rd Place: Mrs. Chan-Munroe's 2nd Grade class with 372 boxtops.

 

Since April, we have collected an awesome total of 5,850 boxtops. Good job Cougars!  Remember to collect your boxtops during the summer and we'll pick up where we left off.
